RPers name: Dustin
Full Name: Professor Charles Francis Xavier
Code Name: Professor X
Gender: Male
General Appearance:
Xavier is a standard sized man at six feet tall and one hundred and sixty pounds. His distinguishing traits would be his always smooth bald head and the fact that he is wheelchair bound. Professor X usually wears semi casual clothes however you will almost never see him in a tee shirt and jeans.
Personality: Charles Xavier is a mutant pacifist who works to spread the word of mutant and human co existence on Earth. Professor X believes that with the X-Men he can crusade into the dawn of a new age where mutants will not be feared and can one day be accepted along side the human race.
Charles must force himself not to read the minds of everyone around him at all times however there is always some form of mind reading happening at all times and for that reason he can speak with nearly anyone and get along with them as he seemingly always knows the right thing to say to any personality type.
Occupation: Headmaster of Xavier's School for Gifted Children
Super Power: Telepathy: Charles Xavier is the most powerful telepath on earth, possessing vast psionic abilities. He is capable of:
-Inducing illusions
-Temporary mental or physical paralysis
-Loss of specific memories, or total amnesia
-Projecting mind-numbing mental bolts
-Sensing the presence of mutants within a small radius
Telekinesis: Xavier is capable of a low-level form of telekinesis, it is unknown how much weight Xavier is capable of lifting with his telekinesis. It is known however that he is capable of lifting himself and his wheelchair up a flight of stairs, shunting Magneto into Earth's atmosphere and exploding the ball of metal which Magneto was (presumably) contained within, and levitating a Sentinel.
Astral Projection: Xavier is capable of astral projection allowing him to communicate with others astrally through his own will, or through contact with the thoughts and memories of others.
Genius-level Intellect: A natural genius, Xavier is a leading authority on genetics, mutation, and psionics. He possesses considerable expertise in other life sciences.
Mutagenic Surgical and Therapy Expertise: With ex-wife Moira Kinross, Xavier worked to help mutants, devising new therapies and surgical techniques for their unique patients.
Ethical, Linguistic and Anthropological Expertise: Charles and Erik Lensherr developed concepts for a new mutant culture, including an alphabet and language and a new moral code.
Enhanced Learning Capabilities: Xavier told Beast that for both of them such was the thirst for knowledge that there came a point when they couldn't turn a page fast enough.
Experimental Surgical Expertise: When cutting-edge surgery including a kangaroo kidney transplant must have been performed on Beast, Xavier and Jean Grey acquired the experimental surgical skills by reading the minds of top-notch surgeons.
Biochemistry Expertise: Charles and Erik Lensherr developed the power-enhancing drug Banshee from the DNA of the Mutant Wolverine.
-Weaknesses: There are quite a few with Xavier. The most obvious being that he is paralyzed from the waste down and could not combat anyone in hand to hand combat. Also any form of telepathy dampeners that would block Xavier's powers would render him nearly useless.
Any additional info: Charles has an ex wife Moira McTaggart and son David.
Weapons: None
Team Affiliation: X-Men
History:
Xavier's powers manifested as a teenager, and resulted in the loss of his hair. As an adult, Xavier befriended the mutant known as Erik Lensherr, who was to become the mutant terrorist known as Magneto. Eric and Charles spent hours on the phone after they first met, talking about their dreams for the new mutant race. Their incredible bond led to Xavier leaving his wife Moira and son David. Together, they founded The Brotherhood of Mutants in San Francisco, a place where persecuted mutants could find refuge. A year later, they discovered the Savage Land, a forgotten jungle in the Indian Ocean. In this lost tropical world, Xavier and Magneto built a home for the growing mutant population. For a time, the two men found the peace they sought, but the partnership began to dissolve as Magneto became increasingly hateful toward mankind, believing Homo superior represented the next step in human evolution, and that Homo sapiens should live under the rule of mutants. While Xavier thought of their Savage Land reprieve as a place to teach mutants, Magneto was merely building a mutant army.
The friendship between the two men strained to the breaking point. Xavier and a few of his sympathizers attacked Magneto and made their way to the beach in order to escape the island. Magneto ended the struggle by paralyzing Xavier with a metal spear through the back.
Xavier managed to escape and returned to the United States, where he established his Institute for Gifted Children in Westchester, New York---using his ancestral mansion as a secret base to train young mutants to use their powers for the benefit of both man- and mutantkind.
Sample Role Play:
"Hello Lilian Chambers reporting in from channel seven news and i'm here at the front steps of Lucian's Museum of Arts with an exclusive interview with Professor X, leader of the X-Men." The tall and slender blonde reporter introduced her segment with glee as she began to lower her microphone to the smirking bald Charles Xavier sitting in his wheelchair to her left. Xavier dressed in a brown turtle neck and tank slacks raised his hand in a motion of disagreement as he began to speak. "Leader isn't the right word Ms. Chambers. If anything I would say Cyclops and Beast are working their way towards that role. I am simply a teacher, with the hope of one day ending the dispute between homo-sapien and homo-superior."
Lilian smiled and nodded awkwardly as she had just been corrected on live TV from one of the most famous mutants on the planet. "My apologies Professor. Can you tell me if we should expect any new X-Men in the near future?" She asked in her most coy way as Charles smiled at the reporter. "Well from the request of my student's, i've been told I need to open myself up, become more accessible and be more 'modern' so I don't see why we wouldn't be adding more X-Men but that is as 'in detail' as I'd like to get as far as members of the X-Men go. Besides, the real reason we are out here is just peacefully demonstrating that all Mutants are not like the terrorist known as Magneto. Do not fear mutant kind, America. Fear evil. I promise that as long as the X-Men are he..." Suddenly an explosion cut Charles' voice off as the top of a coffee shop about a block away gets blown to bits as a Sentinel lands down just across the block from Professor X. "Surrender mutant." The robot's artificial voice spouted out over its loud speaker as it raised it's palm in the direction of Xavier preparing a blast that would incinerate him.
When before the reporter could even think of running for her life a blast from the Sentinel's palm ripped out towards Xavier as just feet from Charles and the reporter the blast is stopped by a force field of pink energy as Marvel Girl walks into view. "If you could excuse us Ms. Chambers. It appears the United States government has once again sent their killing machines after peacefully demonstrating mutants. We will have to discuss in more detail at a later date." Xavier said as Marvel Girls telekinesis quickly placed the reporter out of harms way as she then looks up towards the Sentinel and crumples it into a tiny ball that lands onto the street as a few terrified mutants cheer for the X-Men. Jean Grey and Charles Xavier wave and smile as the Blackbird uncloaks right above them and teleports them into the jet and blasts off through the air with a gloomy storm rolling in behind them as the dart away from any additional Sentinel trackers.
