RPers name: Uatu (Eric)
Full Name: Reed Nathaniel Richards
Code Name: None currently (Mr. Fantastic)
Gender: Male
General Appearance: Reed is 14 years old. He has short brown hair. He wears glasses most of the time and is very thin. Reed tends to wear very generic, non descriptive clothing. When in the lab, he tends to just throw on a lab coat, and some goggles. Reed feels more comfortable in his lab suit, then his regular clothes. Reed stands at 6'1" which makes him taller than an average teenager, making him look even more skinny.
When Reed uses his powers, His skin, and other body parts stretches out, and gets thinner at the same time. Most of the clothes Reed wears, and made with molecules that can stretch along with him. His normal clothes would simply stay put, and his wrists or ankles would stretch out. Or rip if he decided to expand out ward.
Personality: Almost immediately, the Richards suspected that there was something special about Reed, who displayed his curiosity from the day he was born. As a child, he demonstrated remarkable intelligence, well ahead of that of his peers. While other children engaged in sports or played games, Reed devoted himself to the sciences. His father often found him cannibalizing household appliances in an effort to create something never before seen by man - an act that often earned him his father's ire.
Reed's heightened intellect naturally made him the subject of ridicule at his school. Fortunately, he managed to become friends with the school's star linebacker, Ben Grimm. Ben generally associated with Reed in order to get help with his trigonometry homework, but he valued him enough to help him against the school bullies.
Reed is friendly at heart, and will make great sacrifices to help his friends. Often in the face of what others would consider great doom. He is easily distracted, and can get completely self absorbed in his work.
Occupation: Current Think Tank Liaison to the Ultimates. Graduated early from Midtown Middle School with full diploma. (Bypassing High School all together)
Super Power: Pliable Bacterial Stacks: Reed's cells have been replaced with "pliable bacterial stacks," single cells which duplicate most of the larger functions of the human body. This allows Reed to stretch his body in myriad ways without disrupting the necessary functions of internal organs such as the kidneys, lungs, or even brain. Reed can stretch any or all of his body parts long distances, even assuming non-human shapes such as a sphere or parachute. It was revealed that Reed's abilities allow him to stretch his brain in order to accommodate and solve almost any problem, thus making him effectively a human computer. Reed's altered biology also prevents cellular decay, allowing him to show no signs of physical aging.
-Weaknesses: Leverage is a key weakness of Reeds. He still relies on physics to use his powers, and the further he stretches the less of an axis point exists and each pound is multiplied accordingly.
Reed intellect causes him to easily be distracted during the hear of the moment. Pre-planning is his strong suit, so catching him off guard, will always give you the upper hand.
Reed is young and has no practical knowledge of the world. He can be easily fooled by lessons learned outside of text books and television.
Any additional info: Above Genius Intellect: Reed Richards is a child prodigy and possesses a keen scientific intellect, decades ahead of his time.
Weapons: Impact Suit: Reed wears an impact suit that can adjust itself to his abilities. To this end, whenever Reed stretches or compresses himself, the suit takes on the same malleability his body possesses
Team Affiliation: None currently (Ultimates, Fantastic Four)
History: When Reed was only ten years old he began developing schematics for a device that could transmit matter across the dimensional plane. He displayed his work at the Midtown Middle School Science Fair, where he successfully teleported a toy car into an alternate dimension. This garnered him the attention of the Director of Mainland Technology Development.
An agent named Lieutenant Lumpkin (who was present for Reed's Science Fair experiment), recommended him for induction into a special government program - a program that recruited young geniuses in the hopes of creating the scientific leaders of the future. Lumpkin approached Reed's parents for their permission, and explained that the government would pay them a nominal fee for allowing them to take Reed under their care.
Reed was paired up with Dr. Hank Pym, a leading scientist in his field of biology. Hank works off a budget shared with the Ultimates.
Sample Role Play Upstate New York:
"Listen Reed, I'm just saying, I don't understand what a Fly's ass haz ta do with that Hurricane."
Reed remained focused on his task at hand. He was in his parents garage. It was sadly, the only place he could get away. The basement was being used, as a man cave of sorts for his father. If drinking beer alone and swearing at any sport on T.V. was cause for the dedication of an entire basement, It was lost to Reed.
"Fly Ash Ben, Fly ASH. It's the bi product of burning coals. It absorbs oil in the water, or on creatures. The NSF has been giving out RAPID grants to private sectors and university's to find a way to remove deepwater oil from the gulf of Mexico. In the months after the largest oil spill in U.S. history, scientists faced the challenge of how best to clean up the millions of barrels of oil polluting seawater, marshes and beaches. There were questions about the relative safety of the various absorbent materials, as well as their expense and disposal. Furthermore, some of the materials dispersed rather than removed the oil, which led to further challenges."
Ben could be heard making snoring noises, as he fiddled with parts of Reed's equipment. "Why spend so much time on it? Oh yea.. I 'member, 'for the good of mankind.' Because 'I am Reed Richards and I want to be the first President of the Moon." Ben rolled his eyes.
"That... or... The foundation handed out more than 60 awards, totaling nearly $7 million, in geosciences, computer simulation, engineering and other fields. Imagine what that could do for me. I could finally get our of here, move my mom and sister somewhere nice."
Ben opened up another of Reeds machines, this one from a box gathering dust. Ben pressed a botton, and it made a hissing noise. Reed looked back at Ben. "You enjoy smelling Ben?" Ben looked back at him confused. He sniffed the air.
"Hey! What gives! I can't smell nuthin anymore!"
"Well, that's because that machine expels polyps-abnormal growth tissue, into your sinus cavities. Most likely also rid you of your sense of taste. So you may be able to handle my moms pot roast tonight."
Ben moves forward, and grabs Reed by the shirt. Reed clinches his bottom lip. "Umm.. I... I can fix it Ben, I swear!" "WHAT TYPE OF BOZO MAKES A MACHINE TO GET RID OF MY SENSE OF SMELL?"
Reed smiles slightly. "Umm... The President of the Moon?"
