The research I've done is a little... sparse on Widow's history. So I'm gonna leave it a little sparse and if I have to fill in a hole at this stage I'll use mainstream continuity for that. Though a lot of the fun of Widow is leaving some lovely holes open to fill with blasts from the past.

Who says that amazing things don't come in small packages? Natalia may only be five foot six, but every inch of her is in the prime of human physique. Her frame is lithe and wiry, rather than bulky; honed to a razor edge into a precision weapon. She has fiery red hair, and green eyes. And she is not afraid to show off her form, often wearing clothing designed to show off her curves.
Personality:
Natalia takes special pride in what it is she does. She also tends to only respect others with the same level of professionalism and skill. She is exceptionally slow to warm to others, even more slow to begin to trust. At any level she will always be watching her back and observing, with the level of paranoia one would expect from someone who deals in secrets and subterfuge. If you do manage to gain her loyalty, however... it is not something easily lost.
She has something of a dark sense of humor, and is in general a pragmatist. She is constantly on the alert, always attentive for signs of a trap or betrayal. When on the job, she generally always is focused on the mission objective and its execution, though is still capable of allowing herself to enjoy the process of getting there. Doggedly determined, when she sets her mind to a goal, she will use whatever tools she has at her disposal to get the job done.

Speed, agility, reflexes, stamina, recall and concentration all enhanced slightly beyond human limits by secret technology. She's received extensive training espionage, martial arts, marksmanship, seduction and acting.
-Weaknesses:
Natalia is just as mortal as any other human. Also she has a tendency to get herself into rather steep trouble in her dogged pursuit of whatever goal she happens to be going after. She also has an exceptionally dark past for a hero and it often comes back to bite her in the butt.
Weapons:
Numerous spy gear, various guns, utility belt fare, her jumpsuit is made out of a synthetic polymer that has minor damage resistance properties without hindering movement.

Little is known about earliest days in the career of Natalia Romanova, or indeed if that is even her real name. She is reputed to have been a KGB agent for some time, during which time she learned many of her skills and her craft. That may have been the source of her augmentations as well. But if that is the case there is no record of such and Natalia has been tight lipped on the subject. What is known is that Nick Fury brought her under the auspices of S.H.I.E.L.D. and she left the KGB. She's worked for them since, using her specialized skills for their Black Ops division with distinction.

Natalia was undoubtedly the best there was at seducing a mark and incapacitating them to do whatever it was they need to do. But that doesn't mean she had to enjoy it. The scientist, now unconscious on the bed, honestly disgusted her. He wouldn't know what to do with a woman in his league, much less one out of it. She had added a sedative to his drink before and now he slept on the bed.
Widow worked quickly on his laptop, using a thumb drive to implant a virtually untraceable piece of software into the computer. This would transmit data to a processing center as well as be capable of piggybacking the same piece of software onto select emails, thus propagating into the network they needed intelligence on.
As she finished she glanced back to the figure on the bed. He was just beginning to stir. She closed up the laptop and carefully replaced it where it had been left. She rose and went into the bathroom, flushed the toilet and came back to the bed. The poor dupe was none the wiser.
