So Marvel is doing alot of teasing for the current story line coming out that 616 Galactus merging with Gah Lak Tus is going to be the end of the Ultimate Universe. What does everyone think will happen? They just showed that Age of Ultron did a big number on the Ultimate Universe and Reed think's the universe is going to end.
I think they are going to use the Age of Ultron timestream shattering as an excuse to reload the universe right before Loeb shat all over with Ultimatum. I'm expecting some type of restart of the universe getting back to issue 1's again. Do you think they will cancel the Ultimate line all together and leave Miles Morales in 616?

If they do undo some of the crap I hope its before Ultimates 3, not just Ultimatum. Ultimates 3 was just kinda godawful and coated over with a lot of icky... but it would be harder to do with the whole Ultron thing being such a big deal. Ultimates 3 turned me off to the Ultimate Universe before I ever even got to Ultimatum. I've since read it, just cause I heard how awful it was and had to see it for myself, but I still can't get over the stupid that was Ultimates 3.

Going back to number 1's is almost a guarantee. It's Marvel, it's what they do.
As for the Universe, They can kill off everyone and bring Miles and Reed to 616 and I'll be fine. They are the only Ultimate characters I was more interested in over their 616 counterpart. Bringing Galactus back makes sense and taking his Ultimate counterpart with him, since Gah Lak Tus was really stupid toward the end.
Do I think they'll end the universe? No, there are many signs that the Ultimate Universe is failing for sales, as they cut down the issue count, and had to bring in 616 to keep it going. But I think it's about to shrink to a small 'off-world' comic and not be something as large as it was in the past.
It's gotten ahead of itself. They did a great job creating the updated world, but unlike 616 it wasn't created in 1960 and didn't get slowly bigger over the course of 50 years. It's a forced explosion of characters getting all confused.
I just hope they don't go the way of DC and have a bunch of interacting multi-verse. Shit bores me.
I'm for a '198' of the Ultimate Universe to allow a few skilled writers to keep it going. Completely resetting it to a previous point would also be a Marvel staple, but I fear that outcome as well.

Our buddy Matt at the comic shop was telling me the Ultimate titles are selling just as good if not better then the 616 counterparts atleast at the casablanca stores. I was super surprised!
Yea Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum were drizzling shits but i've liked almost every single story arc from Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Spider-Man so for me if they do a reset to eliminate Loeb's work which for me was the worst thing thats happened, i'd be stoked!
Eric have you read the current Ultimate Comics X-Men that has like 30 issues so far? Its like almost exactly 198 with Sentinels committing global genocide on mutants along with mutants taking the cure, there's like no mutants left and its super just character driven haha it's one of my favorite X-Men titles in a long time actually.
